Safe and sound and nice and clean. Next we learn how to weld.

I blasted for three days - All's I can say is whew, I'm glad that's over for now!

Special thanks to everyone and my little me that helped sift sand and reload for another blast.

Wow! What a difference!

That's not paint - that's shiny, rust-free, bare metal

Yay! I can add sandblaster extraordinaire to my resume!

See those huge rusty bolts holding the rusty wheel drums in place? Well they won't budge! I'm gonna have to get me pappa again. Then it's sandblast time - no more dirt and grime!!

Okay - with a little help from me pappa and something called a 'pickle fork' we got the front end completely dismantled. Hope I can figure out how to get it back together again later.

The first video! Finally I did something a little more exciting than just turning bolts and scrapping gunk. This is the very dangerous procedure of getting the spring plate off without using the proper tools. This is called the 'jack and chain' method. I'm not even using a proper chain - All I had was a swingset chain! This is the second plate to be removed - apparently I had already perfected the method with the first try, because the screwdriver doesn't go flying off across the garage this time! Not very fun this time around - but anyhow, here's how to do it flawlessly...

This front end assembly is being a bugger to take apart

Now you see a front end assembly...
